On our review criteria page, we explain the specific standards Compulsion Reads applies to the novels we endorse. We also think it’s important to show authors exactly how these standards translate into reality when we’re evaluating an actual novel.
For that, we offer four different samples below. Two samples belong to novels that earned our endorsement and two samples from novels that did not.
For each sample, we’ve included the endorsement form we used for the novel, as well as a supplemental explanation of our decision. We hope that by reviewing these samples, you can get a better idea of the quality required for a novel to earn a Compulsion Reads Endorsement and what mistakes will sink your submission.
