Compulsion Reads Submission Guidelines

• We accept all genres of fiction except for children's picture books (YA and middle-grade fiction are welcome)
• We accept creative nonfiction (nonfiction written as a narrative or a story)
• We do not accept poetry
• We do not accept screenplays

• We accept short stories, novellas and novels up to 200,000 words in length

• We only accept completed manuscripts
• We strongly recommend only submitting a manuscript after it has been thoroughly edited and reviewed. Put your best pages forward! (See our Read Before Your Submit page)
• We accept manuscripts that have been self-published, published through a traditional or indie publisher or manuscripts that have not yet been published but are complete
• Manuscripts may be submitted by the author or on behalf of the author with the author’s express permission
• The manuscript must be a unique work created by the author
• The manuscript must be typed in a readable font (use common sense)
• Include the title on the first page of the manuscript
• At this time we only accept manuscripts written in English
• We do accept English translations but strongly recommend that translations be done by a professional translator (a translation done by a free online translation tool won’t be of sufficient quality to earn a CR Endorsement)

• Manuscripts must be submitted as a PDF
• Cover images must be submitted as a JPEG

As part of the submission process, you will also need to provide the following:

• Title of the book
• Genre
• Word count
• A short description
• Date published (if applicable)
• Publisher (if applicable)
• Cover thumbnail (if applicable)
