Are you ready to participate in the Los Angeles Festival of Books 2013?

Are you ready to get your book in the hands of some of those voracious readers?  All of the books which have earned a Compulsion Reads Endorsement will be eligible to be featured in our booth at this year’s Los Angeles Festival of Books for free. We are pretty excited about the different ways our endorsed authors can get involved. Check out all the opportunities below and participate in one or all of them.

Donate Swag- To lure people to our booth, where we will then fawn all over your literary prowess we will be holding multiple drawings to give away great swag, like t-shirts, books and other items. While we have started stockpiling cool prizes, we would love to be able to add some signed paper copies of our endorsed books. If you can spare a copy or two that would be amazing- don’t forget to sign them. If you have other promo swag that would make a great prize we would love to add those items to our prize list as well.

Book Signing- We would like to invite any and all of our endorsed authors who live in the Southern California area or those of you who want to take a vacation in April to join us for an hour or two to sign copies of your book or other promotional items. We will coordinate all of the authors who are interested in participating, supply pens and promote the event.  Each author will be responsible for providing whatever item they want to sign, be it books, promo cards with free e-book codes or other clever items.  Once we have a list of interested authors we will contact each of you to schedule signing time slots.  While we will do everything in our power to attract people to our booth for your signing, we cannot guarantee the turn out, but either way we think this will be a great chance for you to meet new fans and introduce your work to people who may have not found you online. As a side note, we will not be able to sell any books at this event. Special permits are required, and the logistics make selling books for individual authors impossible.

Bag Stuffers- Do you have promo cards for your book, bookmarks, coasters or other dandy handouts? We are going to be stuffing promo bags with postcards and flyers for people who stop by our booth. This way once these lovely bookworms get home they will have tons of swag to remind them about your book. You can send us any items you would like to have us add to the bags, and we will happily add them to our promo bags.

Free Book Weekend- Please let us know if your book will be free that weekend or a few days after. Just like with the Comic Con event we will be providing a list of free books that will be available to the new friends we meet at the event.

We will be creating flyers to hand out and stuff in our bags that will highlight randomly chosen books from our endorsed library, so even if you are not able to participate in one of the above ways your book could still be spotlighted.

Okay, are you ready to get involved? Take some time to think about how you would like to participate then email us. In the subject line please type: LA Festival of Books, then detail how you would like to get involved.

If you have a book you have not submitted that you would like to be featured at Los Angeles Festival of Books, you will need to submit it for our evaluation no later than March 2, 2013. That will give us enough time to evaluate it, and if it is endorsed, you’ll have enough time to come up with clever promo items to include.

We hope that you guys are as excited about this opportunity as we are. We honestly believe that this will be a great chance to reach readers that may not be finding your book in the Amazon lists or on other sites. We look forward to hearing from all of you and introducing you to a group of new readers.
